What is Artificial Intelligence and How it is Shaping up our Future?

Artificial Intelligence is one of the leading technologies that is shaping the future of human lives today. It has been in the spotlight due to the innovation of different tools and techniques that are either fully based on AI principles or work in the integration. With so many speculations about artificial intelligence like being threat to the human race, experts are into a debate how it will transform our future. Recently held WEF summit closes with UAE launching the new initiative on Artificial intelligence and robotics it is becoming one the preferred technology that Dubai`s government is trying to implement to improve human lives.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence or AI is the ability of machines like robots or any other devices to perform tasks that are normally performed by intelligent beings. It is a process of developing machines with the capability to reason, discover, generalize, make decisions and learn from experience.

What we already use is a narrow and weak form of artificial intelligence. It may be surprising to you for example just check your smartphone it may have either Cortana or Siri application in it that all are digital assistant apps. Many websites are nowadays using chatbots as customer service agents with the ability to communicate with you just like humans.

What is the Future of AI?

As discussed earlier the deep learning capability allows machines to process highly complex information and take decisions on that basis. Improved big data analytics and AI tools are making it possible to speed up development of such tools that can work intelligently. However, much this technology is still not matured; we can expect in future it will have a significant effect on our lives.

The next big thing that we will see in future is automated transportation that will most probably start with self-driving cars. We humans are limited in terms of our bodies we without the help of technology cannot move beyond the limitations set by our own bodies. However many researchers believe that it will become possible to augment our self through a computer that will enhance our natural capacity. In some real example, people without a limb can have artificial intelligence based organs that will work like real one. In addition to that, we may have chips implants in our body parts including brain to fight with different disease and improve our efficiency.

• Robots will take over dangerous Jobs.

We can in many places robots are already taking over most dangerous job available. Bombs and mine defusing are one of such job. In future, we can see more sophisticated robotic machines that will have a higher capability to perform such tasks. Even many experts are predicting use of robots in the wars and ammunition.

• Robot will be your friends.

Up till now, we see machines and robots are emotionless and it's hard to develop a friendly relationship like we humans do. However, A Japanese company has developed such robots that emotions and feeling it is a great step forward as companion robot. The technology is becoming mature and we could see more such robots that can read human emotions and can develop their own as well.

• Robots for Elderly care.

For old age people persons everyday life becomes difficult and struggle. Therefore they may have to hire someone to help them out in the day to day lives. Artificial intelligence currently is at the stage where I can replace the need of hire caregiver. We will be able to see home robots performing such tasks including the help of elderly people.

Although there are countless uses of AI, These are just a few common ways where AI will impact our lives if you are interested in learning more about how future will impact human lives. It is the area where there is a huge shortage of skilled people and cost of care is increasing exponentially.

The use of Artificial Intelligence is not just limited to robotics. Perhaps it can also be applied in various ways discussed as follows.

• Fighting Crimes.

The AI-based system can help in understanding and interpret different types of visual inputs in computer like images, satellite photos, and military images etc. Police can make use of this technology to match the images with a database of criminals.

• Detection and Diagnoses of Disease.

Same AI based image technology can also be used in understanding in-depth images and scans of human organs.  The technology can help quick detection, interpretation, and diagnoses that can help in the fight against deadly diseases more effectively.

• Handwriting, Speech recognition and Translation into other languages.

Handwriting and Speech recognition is another area where Artificial intelligence can help, it solves many problems as when we want computers to understand what we are saying then due to a variety of different accents computer should be able to learn how different people speak.
