The IT market is changing as always, mobility; Cloud, data analytics and security are the ongoing concerns for businesses. While virtual reality, Artificial intelligence, and block chains are disruptive technologies.

If you want your organization to withstand the challenges of future you should look out of latest IT infrastructure trends.

Have a look at this list of trends in enterprise IT infrastructure to watch in 2017

Rapid Adoption of Cloud Service.

The trends from last decade show that SMEs has held data backups on physical on-site servers and hard drives. This practice of taking server snapshots has already been outdated due to growing threats to locally stored enterprise data backups.

Hybrid cloud technology will be more preferred trend while private cloud adoption will decrease during the year 2017. The Cloud technology will provide small, medium and large enterprises will broader options to choose from. The cloud services like backups, archiving, Cloud SaaS, DRaaS will continue to gain popularity among all size of businesses.

Growth of SIEM as Service.

Latest trends suggest threats related to information security are growing for all types and size of businesses. There is no exception for online or offline businesses; information is under attack from all aspects. Most of the businesses fail to timely recognize and report the security breach that makes to harder to deal with cyber-attacks. To address this situation medium and, large enterprise will be increasingly turning toward SIEM as a service solution. That is specially designed for businesses that can’t leverage traditional on-premise products. With increased popularity of cloud solutions, “SIEM as service” will be highly in demand as all the responsibility of installation, configuration, and maintenance will be taken by vendors making it more viable and affordable for businesses.

Cloud Based Data Backups will gain Popularity.

With increased threats to “enterprise data” the local, onsite data backup will not be considered a viable solution. As a result, cloud-based data backups will gain popularity in all types of business. According to research by “Quorum,” about 90% of companies are looking to have cloud-based data backup solutions.  Although onsite backup with database snapshots can cost less,  it may prove to be more damaging in the case of data loss. Therefore the cloud data backup is the way to go for data protection.

The Trend of IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service).

The multi-cloud architecture will continue to gain popularity through 2017 while more companies will be shutting down their “data centers” and transferring their data, applications, and systems to IaaS cloud services.  As the technology matures, there will mass adoption of IaaS “Infrastructure as Service.”  The integration of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning tools will make it more predictable and better in performance. Application codes” will trigger in response to an event rather than the provision of any infrastructure resource. Companies will widely adopt application containers technology to move code from one environment to another.

Increased need for DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service).

Every disaster whether natural or man-made has potential to cause significant damage to businesses. Every business regardless of its size depending on its types has a varying degree of threats from cyber-attacks that may affect the ability of business to function as normal.  This reliance on information technology infrastructure makes its availability exceptionally critical for businesses. A well-maintained disaster recovery plan can provide a required level assurance to business that it can recover quickly in the event of a disaster. However the lack of required resources and expertise making it difficult for businesses especially SMEs to set up, keep recovery plans update.  Therefore, the need for DRaaS will grow in the year 2017 where vendors will be responsible for set up and maintenance of recovery plans.
