Self-Destructing, Snoozing Emails, Better Interface, Contact Cards Gmail Labs & Much More

Gmail has recently got biggest changes in last few years. It now includes tools that are aimed at businesses to keep information secure. However, you will not be able to access gmail new features  on interface automatically. To switch to new version of Gmail, you will need to choose the option by clicking on gear icon on the upper right corner where “Try new Gmail” is visible. G suite users can apply these changes with early adaptor program. That just requires you to turn it on in the admin console.

New Message Actions & Quick Replies.

The first new feature that includes in latest Gmail update is email snoozing. This allows you to put an email off for a while. A snoozing email message will be put in snoozed folder until the specific time at which it will reappear in the inbox. To snooze an email message you will need to hover it and click on clock button. In addition to that when gmail will notice you have not responded to an email message, it will nudge you via orange alert on the right hand side of subject/snippet.

Improved Attachment Display.

Another Gmail feature is meant to improve the display of attachment emails. if you have set email display density to default, rather than comfortable or compact options. It will now be displayed prominently in your inbox saving you from hassle of digging deeper into the email for the lengthy email threats.

Collapsible Left Sidebar.

The new Gmail will allow you more horizontal space for the subject lines and message previews. It will be collapsed the sidebar that will automatically expands while you put mouse over it. With another click it will again restore into expanded view.

Right Sidebar of Google Apps.

This new Gmail interface includes new sidebar displays that are loaded with clickable icons for Google apps like Google calendar, Google Tasks and Google keep etc. This sidebar can also accommodate third party add-ons as per your requirements.

Enhanced Security (Self Destructing, Restricted Emails)

One of key focus area for Gmail new changes is to improve security. Few security features are already included and others will be available soon. Most of these features are designed for Google G suite business users where you will now be able to restrict your outgoing messages from forwarded, copied, downloaded and printed. There will be plenty of options to activate and deactivate these options as per your requirements. In addition to that one of the unique option is to send self-destructing emails that will disappear at its own after specified time period, revoke previously sent emails and even restrict users to authenticate themselves through mobile phones to access specific email message.

Native offline support in Gmail

One of the few more changes that you will see soon is native offline support in Gmail. Google offers it to G Suite early adapter program users who will be able to access chrome apps like Gmail in offline mode. It will need admins to turn on for their users when it becomes available.

Contact cards

The contact cards feature is recently launched where the user profile information surfaces when it is needed most from the inside G Suite apps. These contact cards will also appear in new Gmail where it displays the information provided by the user. Therefore, the users are highly recommended to upload their information in relevant sections.

Gmail Labs.

There will be number of new enterprise friendly features included in G suite available through Gmail Lab classic user interface. For example it will include canned responses, multiple number of inboxes , preview pane, and more as permanent features can be enabled  through advanced options tab in the setting.
